A $4.9 million federal government grant will help secure the future of the Moonta Mines National Heritage Precinct.

Federal Minister for the Environment Sussan Ley announce the funding as part of a $61.2 million package for environmental restoration and recovery earlier this month.

The funding will allow National Trust SA and Copper Coast Council to further plan for the area.

‘Its come at the perfect time, ‘ National Trust SA CEO Darren Peacock said

“Our Conservation Managemnt Plan gives us a blueprint of how we move forward with the precinct, so now it is just a matter of prioritising works.

It is a remarkable site and we want to make sure the best bits are safely accessible and well interpreted.
