- Duration: 1 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Moonta Mines, South Australia
To celebrate Science Week at the Moonta Mines Museum, you will be treated to a special copper processing demonstration delivered by George Dambitis a renowned Geo Chemist as part of illuminart’s Constellation trail for National Science Week. The Moonta Mines historically used a method called Cementation, which means “an acid extraction of copper from carbonate and residual low-level copper ores”. This fascinating demonstration will take place in the old school room set up in the Moonta Mines Museum, which was originally the Moonta Mines School.
