2-3 Days in Moonta & Surrounds

2 - 3 DAYS IN MOONTA AND SURROUNDS

Spend a day exploring the Moonta Mines Heritage Site. Follow one of the longer walking trails, ride the tourist train and have a picnic at the sight, or drive the Heritage Trail.

If it is summer, spend the afternoon at Splashtown- at Moonta Bay- which can be fun for the whole family. (Check on availability due to Covid restrictions)

Day 2 – travel to Kadina to visit the Farm Shed Museum. Explore this area.

Day 3 – travel to Wallaroo- visit the National Heritage sites of Wallaroo. Have lunch at the Tavern where they have a range of meals to cater for all the family.

Spend some time fishing from the jetty, or take a fishing charter.

There are a range of activities that can entertain the whole family for a number of days! Just plan what you want to do

Moonta Heritage Town Tour

The Moonta Heritage Trail starts at the Town Hall and is a leisurely drive of about 16 kms. The trail passes many sites of historical interest. Simply follow the distinctive Trail Signs, Tour Drive No 38. Allow 1-2 hours to complete

Splashtown

Splashtown is a water slide facility provided by the Copper Coast Council. Located at Moonta Bay it is fun for the whole family! Currently closed due to Covid restrictions- check the Copper Coast website for more details

Kadina

A visit to Kadina can include miniature trains, mini golf as well as a visit to the farm shed.Currently there is also an indoor play cafe for wet weather. Please check their website for details– times may change due to Covid restrictions
